Where our company started… and where we are today.

Ruth Jones founded Wild Coyote Foods in St. George, UT in 1996. The company originally leased a small building, approximately 500 square feet, from R.W. Jones in the “Old Industrial Park.” Our first customer was Lin’s Market in St. George, where we initially started selling our ranch dressing and salsa.

In a short period of time, we were fortunate enough to begin adding new customers, which included Smith’s, Albertsons, and Harmon’s in St. George and Cedar City, UT. With the volume increase in production, it was necessary for R.W. Jones to build a new 3,200 square feet building adjacent to the existing one to accommodate the increase in our sales.

Even with our growth, Ruth was determined to keep the integrity of our product intact by continuing to use fresh ingredients. Shortly after moving into the bigger building, we placed our products in the warehouse of Smith’s in Layton, UT and at Associated Foods and Albertsons in Salt Lake City, UT. At this same time, we added the following new salad dressings: Lite Ranch, Bleu Cheese, and Thousand Island.

Ruth became ill in the spring of 2006. After a short battle with pancreatic cancer, Ruth sadly passed away in November of the same year. The responsibility to grow and sustain Wild Coyote Foods operations was then left to Ruth’s husband, Wiley Jones, and his brother, R.W. Jones.

In December 2008, the operation was moved to a 7,500 square foot facility in the Fort Pierce Industrial Park. Again, new customers were added to the business. We provided portion cups of Lite Ranch to the Washington County and Iron County School Districts and 22 Walmart stores in Utah. With this strategic move, we took the opportunity to upgrade our production line to a more automated system.

In November 2012, Wild Coyote Foods ceased delivering on its own to the individual Walmart stores. Walmart’s corporate office allowed us to place our products in the Corinne, UT warehouse, which services stores in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Our products can also be found in Walmart stores in the Las Vegas, NV area.

With the continued success and growth of the business, we moved again in January 2015 to our current location, which is in a 14,000 square feet building. This new site also gave us room to expand as needed.

Wiley Jones passed away in July of 2017, leaving the business in R.W. Jones's care. Even with the loss of both of our original founders, we still continue to be committed to providing products that consistently meet or exceed our customers' expectations. All this while faithfully maintaining Ruth and Wiley’s original vision for the business.

Early in 2017, we introduced new salad dressings to our line, which include the Southwest Ranch, Cilantro Lime Ranch, Jalapeno Ranch, and Parmesan Peppercorn Ranch. Then, in July 2018, we again expanded our delivery territory. We are now delivering to the Casa Grande, AZ Walmart warehouse.

Our Ranch, Lite Ranch, Cilantro Lime Ranch, Southwest Ranch, Bleu Cheese, and Peppercorn Ranch can now be found in 133 Walmart stores throughout the state of Arizona and in western New Mexico.

The past year, we have been working on our marketing and social media campaigns. You can now search for our newly created website, our Facebook, and our Instagram pages on the internet.

To raise community awareness, we have been conducting demos of our products at Arizona County fairs, the Cinco de Mayo festival in Phoenix, and the upcoming Arizona State Fair in October. We are excited to increase our product line this year with four new vinaigrette dressings that are at the lab awaiting final approval.

As Wild Coyote Foods continues to grow, we keep in mind Ruth’s legacy and her recipes. It is in our plans this year to finish and receive our Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certification.

We use only the highest quality ingredients in our production, and we are dedicated to the safety and integrity of each jar that leaves our warehouse. We appreciate and recognize that the success of our company rests on the dedicated efforts of our employees, office staff, and owner.
