Wild Coyote Foods, LLC
Company History

Ruth Jones founded Wild Coyote Foods, LLC of St. George, UT in 1996. The company originally leased a small building, approximately 500 sq. ft., from R.W. Jones in the “Old Industrial Park”. Our first customer was Lin’s Market in St George where we initially started selling our Ranch Dressing and Salsa.

In a short time period, we were fortunate to begin adding new customers that included: Smith’s, Albertsons, and Harmon’s in St. George and Cedar City, UT. With the volume increase in production, it was necessary for R.W. Jones to build a new 3,200 sq. ft. building adjacent to the existing building to accommodate the increase in sales. Even with the increase in sales, Ruth was determined to keep the integrity of our product intact by continuing to use fresh ingredients.

Over time, we have been fortunate to place our products in the warehouse of Smith’s in Layton, UT, Associated Foods and Albertsons in Salt Lake City, UT. At this same time we added the following new salad dressings: Lite Ranch, Bleu Cheese, and Thousand Island.

Ruth took ill in the spring of 2006. After a short battle with pancreatic cancer, Ruth sadly passed away in November of the same year. The responsibility to take Wild Coyote Foods forward was then left to Ruth’s husband, Wiley Jones, and his brother, R.W. Jones.

In December 2008 the operation was moved to a 7,500 sq. ft. facility in the Fort Pierce Industrial Park. Again, new customers were added to the business which included: portion cups of Lite Ranch to the Washington County and Iron County School Districts, and 22 Walmart stores in Utah.

In November 2012, Wild Coyote Foods ceased delivering on its own to the individual Walmart stores. Walmart’s corporate office allowed Wild Coyote Foods to place our products in the Corinne, Utah warehouse which services 68 stores in several western states. Our product can also be found in Walmart, Smith’s, Albertsons, and the WinCo stores in the Las Vegas, NV, and Salt Lake City, UT area.

Wiley Jones passed away in July of 2017, leaving the majority of the business in R.W. Jones care. Our hearts go out to Ruth and Wiley’s family and loved ones. The original founders of Wild Coyote Foods will be sorely missed.

Early in 2017 we introduced additional new dressings that include: Southwest Ranch, Cilantro Lime Ranch, Raspberry Vinaigrette, Jalapeno Ranch, and Parmesan Peppercorn Ranch. In July of 2018, we were able to add a new territory. We are now delivering to the Casa Grande, AZ Walmart Warehouse. Our ranch, lite ranch, cilantro lime ranch, bleu cheese, and peppercorn ranch can now be found in 133 Walmart stores throughout the state of AZ.

As Wild Coyote Foods continues to grow, we keep in mind Ruth’s legacy and her recipes. We also appreciate Wiley’s support of the business and his efforts in the years after her passing. The success of our company continues now to live on through efforts of wonderful employees, office staff, and owners.
